Amber Marks

Director, Servant Musician Community Gardens

Amber brings a unique blend of design/marketing expertise, a background in music, and a passion for community building to the role of Community Garden Director.

Amber grew up in southwestern Michigan and developed an early love for all that Michigan has to offer. After graduating high school Amber went to the University of Cincinnati to study design and communication. Upon graduation she and her husband, Lucas, spent several months living on an organic farm in Hawaii while job searching and figuring out what was next in life for them. They moved back to Michigan and have been members of the Whitehall community since 2023.

She also spent three summers marching with DCI (Drum Corps International), ending her DCI career playing trumpet with Phantom Regiment in 2019.

Currently, Amber channels her design background into designing email marketing campaigns for American Express. However, she is thrilled to use her diverse experiences and creative energy to cultivate a welcoming and functional community hub at the garden, fostering connection and growth within Whitehall.
