Erin Wehr

Founder and Executive Director

Erin Wehr (Ph.D., MS, MMED, BM) is a professional coach with a background of over 30 years teaching college, community, and K-12 music programs including instrumental and general music, music technology, and music psychology. With published research in social and positive psychology, Erin brings experience conducting evidence-based studies related to music, wellbeing, and community. Her expertise in program evaluation, data collection, and impact assessment enables The Servant Musician to design research-informed initiatives and demonstrate measurable outcomes on program effectiveness.

In addition to directing school music programs and teaching music education in universities, Erin also served as director for the Iowa City New Horizons Band Program for older adults, founded the Iowa Women’s Jazz Orchestra, and coordinated the development of a growing community ukulele club in Western Michigan.

Erin founded The Servant Musician to support local musicians in cultivating positive psychology-based community engagement for the purpose of enhancing well-being and building relationships across social barriers.

Erin continues to provide professional coaching for individuals and teams, and serves as a guest conductor, clinician, presenter, and consultant utilizing positive psychology for creating meaningful experiences.
